Many of us living in the West enjoy a certain lifestyle that many people around the world
could only dream of. Access to clean water, sanitation, food, shelter, clothing, education
and medical care are just some of the many things that we expect in the West, but indeed are
luxuries in other parts of the world. Living in the UK, it is all too easy to become self
consumed in our busy lives, where our concerns are centered around acquiring and increasing
personal wealth. The needs of the poor and destitute can sometimes be a very distant thought
in our day to day lives.
In order to make a contribution, albeit miniscule in the grand scale of things, our family
decided to embark on a project to open, by the will of God Almighty, an Orphanage for girls
in Lahore, Pakistan. This project will be a very personal project for those that wish to aid
and assist us. For surely it was our beloved Prophet Muhammed (pbuh) who said: 'I and the
caretaker of the Orphan will enter Paradise together'. It is for this reason that we have
chosen to aid, probably the most vulnerable social group in Pakistan; orphaned girls.
The word 'Sadeeqa' is an arabic word meaning 'friend'. We hope that Sadeeqa Orphanage Trust
will provide that invaluable support, just like an invaluable friend or indeed that of a
family.
Sadeeqa Orphanage Trust is a completely non-profit organisation, all its members work
voluntarily. We are based in, operate and fundraise from the UK. However, we welcome
affiliations with other organisations, be they UK based or abroad, that can assist us in
anyway.
Sadeeqa Orphanage Trust has formed an offical association with the UK based charity 'Islamic Help' and we hope that we can benefit from their vast experience and skills.
Our motivations are purely to give to those, some of which has been given to us and ultimately to
seek the pleasure of God Almighty, the Provider and Sustainer of all things.
We hope you can join us in working towards the success of Sadeeqa Orphanage Trust. |
